The downstream demand side shows a slight downturn, and the trend of PVC resin is still weak

The domestic PVC resin spot market atmosphere is stable, with mainstream prices in various regions consolidating and operating, and actual trading is still weak. Compared with futures, the spot market for PVC powder has shifted to a deep discount state, and the advantage of point price supply has disappeared. However, it is difficult to trade at high quotations. The upstream raw material calcium carbide market is temporarily operating steadily, with limited price fluctuations. Downstream PVC resin production enterprises have started to decline, and the demand for calcium carbide has been reduced. Currently, most of the goods have arrived normally, and the purchase price has not been further adjusted. The cost side is stable and the market support is limited, and PVC powder manufacturers still face significant production pressure. Enterprises in the northwest main production area currently have no intention of selling at a higher price and are actively shipping, with a phenomenon of profit sharing.

The inventory accumulation of PVC resin production enterprises is significant, and the available supply of goods has increased. Four new maintenance enterprises were added, involving a large production capacity. The operating rate of PVC powder decreased to 80.05%, a decrease of 1.62 percentage points compared to the previous month. There are still two PVC production enterprises planning maintenance in the later stage, and it is expected that the production will decline in stages. PVC resin traders' quotations are on the high side, and the overall shipment situation is not smooth. The downstream market is cautious about future expectations, and there is a shortage of proactive inquiries, with a moderate amount of demand for restocking. The social inventory of PVC resin in East and South China has once again stopped falling and rebounded, reaching nearly 400000 tons, higher than the same period last year's level of 7.06%.
